Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase moving insurance?

Complete your request online, or download our Valued Inventory Form from our website. Once you’ve completed the inventory and provided your moving details, email everything to us. After the information has been reviewed and approved, we’ll send you a payment link. Coverage is not in effect until your policy has been issued.

What type of moving insurance do you provide?

We offer third-party household goods liability protection for qualified long-distance moves.
Covered claims are settled based on the terms and conditions of the policy. In the event of a covered loss, the Underwriters will pay the lesser of:
➢the reasonable cost of repair,
➢the cost to replace the item with one of like kind and quality, or
➢the value assigned to the item on your Valued Inventory.
Some cosmetic damage may be settled on an appearance allowance basis. All coverage remains subject to the policy’s exclusions and conditions.

How is replacement value determined?

You are responsible for assigning the replacement value of each item on your Valued Inventory. These values should represent the amount it would reasonably cost to replace the item at your destination.
In the event of a covered claim, the amount you assign also represents the maximum amount payable for that item, subject to the policy terms and conditions.

What is the Co-Insurance requirement?

You must insure your inventory for its full replacement value.
If the inventory is undervalued, any covered claim may be reduced proportionally under the policy’s co-insurance provision. For this reason, we strongly recommend declaring the full replacement value of everything being shipped.

What documentation should I keep?

Keep copies of all documents related to your move, including your Bill of Lading, the mover’s inventory or packing list, and the signed delivery paperwork.
If any items are damaged or missing upon delivery, they must be noted on the delivery paperwork before the movers leave whenever possible. Failure to properly document missing items may result in denial of that portion of your claim.

If I change or cancel my move date, will I receive a refund?

If your move schedule changes, please notify us immediately so your insurance certificate can be updated if necessary.
Refunds are considered only before coverage becomes effective and are subject to the terms of the policy.

Is there a deductible?

Yes, all risk coverage comes with a $2,500 deductible..

How do I know my policy has been issued?

Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you’ll receive your Certificate of Insurance by email. Coverage is not effective until the certificate has been issued.

What is the Certificate of Insurance?

Your Certificate of Insurance confirms that coverage has been issued and summarizes the insured shipment, coverage amount, deductible (if applicable), and other important policy information. It should be kept with your moving documents.

How far in advance should I purchase coverage?

Coverage must be arranged before packing begins. We recommend submitting your request at least one business day before your scheduled pack date to allow sufficient time for underwriting review and issuance.
Coverage cannot be purchased after packing or transit has begun.
